Welcome to the Christian Money Management blog!  First a huge thanks to Ann Jenkins for setting up this blog.

This blog is a communication vehicle for the Christian Money Management ministry at the Champions Church of Christ. www.championschurch.org

This ministry was started in August of 2010 and the response has been overwhelming.  I appreciate the patience of  the congregation as I try to organize this ministry.  This ministry may be the first, or one of the first, of its kind.  I have a vision for this ministry but we are clearly sailing in uncharted waters.

I have had several people volunteer to help.  The volunteers have skills and experience in finance and job search.  One of the goals of this ministry is to get even more members involved.

I would also like to use this blog to communicate useful financial and job search information.  One of my favorite web sites is managed by Craig Ford, our missionary in PNG.  Craig has good insights to financial matters and great connections to other useful web sites.  Craig's site is at

Craig has also written a book on creating a budget.  I have read this book and highly recommend it to all, even if you think you are a master of budgeting.  We will be using Craig's book as a part of this ministry as a tool for creating a successful budget.

Several people have asked me when the class starts for this ministry.  As of now, I don't have a class planned but may hold one in the near future.  For now the ministry functions by providing assistance to those with unemployment of financial needs.  One of the key objectives is providing the tools and consultation necessary so those in need will be able to take the lead on managing their finances or searching for a job.

A financial planning or job search service. This ministry is also not a benevolence ministry.
